Ponderings from California
So first of all, I was trying to get to this blog site and typed in kylah - it pops up a link to this website because I've been to it so many times. Well instead of choosing a link, I just hit enter - which then led me to the google results for "kylah." One of the links was to the meaning of the name Kylah - here's what came up:
The meaning of Kylah
Kylah has multiple meanings and origins. The Scottish version of Kylah means Fair. The Feminine form of Kyle. The Celtic version of Kylah means Crown.
A little further down the page you get this:
Numerological Meaning
People with this name tend to be filled with the joy of life. They are quite imaginative and enthusiastic. They may fear routine and might lack self-discipline. Professionally, they can be successful as a press secretary, planner, or small business promoter.
Pretty darn interesting if you ask me - seeing as to how our little Miss K seems to fit right into her name :) But sadly, she wishes to be a teacher like her mommy, not a business-woman!!

Now for my original post idea - I am here in the WONDERFUL state of California with my amazing hubbs. Bran is working all day today, and yesterday, so I have to fend for myself. I decided to venture out to the Walmart to get Bran a bathing suit so we could potentially swim last night. As I'm driving out there, I'm looking around, and I've decided that the trees in California are my favorite. I just love them. I think they're all different kinds of palm trees, but I'm very limited in tree and/or flower knowledge.
Then I get to the Walmart. I texted Bran to let him know that I was just BLOWN AWAY by the fact that even the building was BEAUTIFUL!! The parking lot was landscaped, there were trees everywhere - such a difference from Oklahoma!!
Then we drove out to Huntington Beach last night for dinner. The drive was on freeways most of the way - and it just BOGGLES my mind how HUGE they all are - even the HIGHWAYS are 10-12 lanes!!! The speed limit seems to merely be a suggestion - not something anyone actually follows!! The closest I have ever come to seeing HUGE roads like this was in Northern VA and Dallas, TX - but I swear they weren't 10-12 lanes!! In Northern VA most of the roads were still 6-8 lanes for the most part. And then driving on the freeways yesterday was just CRAZY!! The ONLY drivers (other than little ole me) going the speed limit were the huge trucks!!
I forgot my camera (I'm not used to having it again yet - it was misplaced in MARCH!!) so I only have a few pics from my phone.
This one is Bran sitting in the restaurant - Duke's Huntington Beach:

This is the view from our table - it was RIGHT NEXT to the window - could NOT have been a better table!!

After dinner we walked down to the ocean to put our feet in the water - when I was telling Kylah about it on the phone, she asked me "Did anything bite you?" - this has become one of my FAVORITE things she's ever said...I CRACKED up!!!
This is a BEAUTIFUL pic of my hubby with his feet in the ocean:

I'm sure I will have more photos from wherever we decide to go tonight!!

Who does this remind you of??
Sooo little Miss Kylah (who really isn't all that little any more...she's growing like a WEED) is staying at Nana's house while Mommy and Daddy are having a mini-vacation in California (and the puppies are staying at Warren and Kathy's house). So while she was over there yesterday, she begged and begged and begged for Nana to let her wear her new "school clothes." Since she begged and begged and begged, and well you know Nanas, Nana gave in and let her put on one of her new outfits.

So here's a picture of Kylah....who do YOU think she resembles??

Here's our answer....do you agree??

OK and while I'm at it...Nana sent me a few pictures of Kylah from about 5 years ago...

Here she is dressed up for her first Halloween:

And here she is about 6 months later...just chillin in a stroller:

Here's one of her in a highchair - looks as though she might be getting ready to eat (or maybe just finished, I can't really tell):

And while we're in flashback land, here is her very first family photo - her sister Tamara is with her:

Who knew teeth could be such an exciting thing?!?!
I'm going to say it was about 3 weeks ago (not exactly 100% sure on the time frame) that Kylah went to Nana's and said "NANA MY TOOTH IS WIGGLY!!"

Then she came home the next day and said "MOMMY I HAVE ANOTHER WIGGLY TOOTH!!"

It was now three days ago that she was sitting in the kitchen eating a popsicle and she had that freaked-out tone in her voice...I heard "MOMMY!!" and was on total alert for whatever bad thing had happened..."MOMMY!! MY TOOTH FELL OUT!!" So we of course had to call and let daddy know, and Nana know, and Warren and Kathy know.

Well the tooth fairy must have had some kind of technical difficulty because she didn't make it on Monday night...but it turned out to be a kind of good thing...because on Tuesday afternoon I heard another "MOMMY!! MY OTHER TOOTH FELL OUT!!!"

So thank GOODNESS the tooth fairy was OK and nothing happened Tuesday night, because she came and brought little Miss K a wonderfully nice note, explaining that since losing her first two teeth was SUCH a BIG DEAL, she was going to give her $10!!! She also told Miss K to keep brushing her teeth and behaving so well, and she would bring her $1 for every other tooth she loses!!

So we went to Nana's and had her snap a few photos...Kylah actually got in trouble for putting a crayon where the battery goes in her Tag Reader, but mommy had a VERY hard time staying mad because Kylah was SO DARN CUTE with her TWO MISSING TEETH!!

I think she just looks absolutely ADORABLE!!

My very favorite thing is the SLIGHT change in pronunciations of words...she's not quite used to having that big ole hole there where she used to have those teeth!!
